The bid opening date has been changed to April 18, 2017 @ 2:00 p.m., local time. Bids will be opened at the Lake County Public Works Department in Libertyville, IL.
The deadline for questions will also be extended to April 11, 2017.

On sheet 85-E-2:
Note 1 states that sections 7A, 7B, 7C, 7D shall be modified and combined to accommodate the new 800A kirk-key breaker. Are these (4) buckets being completely removed and replaced with one bucket or is the intent to have the kirk-key breaker in one of the existing spaces?
Answer: This is space that can be used for the new 800A kirk key breaker as needed.
Note 2 states that section 7 of the MCC shall have its vertical bus size increased to 800A. Has Allen Bradley been contacted regarding this design modification?
Answer: This is being addressed in the next Addendum.

For all the fans and curbs that will be removed and replaced. Are we to figure replacement of gravity dampers or motorized dampers that maybe installed in the ductwork just below the fan in the curb portion of the roof.
Answer: The contract documents do not require the removal of the existing gravity dampers or motorized dampers that may be installed below the fan. Only the replacement of the curb is require as part of the roof work. Any work required to replace the curbs would be incidental to their replacement.
Can the precast wall panels in administration building be removed in order to bring in the new Make Up Air Unit. Drawing – 90-H-1.
Answer: The precast wall panels are being removed and replaced as part of this project. Replacement of the Make-Up Air Unit can be coordinated with that work.
Please specify a Roof Drain – Manufacturer and Model #
Answer: This is addressed in Addendum No. 1.
Roof Drain Piping
a. Do we replace in kind for were we tie into existing piping.
i. If existing piping is cast iron – lead oakum joint do we replace with cast iron and lead oakum joints
ii. If existing piping is PVC – do we just replace with PVC piping
b. Can we use no hub piping and no hub clamps for this existing piping
c. For roof drain piping that is insulated do we re insulate this piping
d. For any roof drain piping that is not insulated do we need to insulate this piping or just keep it as is with no insulation
Answer: This is being addressed in the next Addendum.

I cannot find in the bid documents where it indicates that the general contractor is to remove the existing precast siding. Can you point me to a spec section or drawing.
Answer: This is being addressed in Addendum No. 2.
Section 15250 on page 11 Article 3.12A and 3.13C refer to a drawing 95-M-1 which does not exist in this bid package?
Answer: This is being addressed in Addendum No. 2.
On drawing 90-M-1, what is the insulation spec for the 3" HWS and HWR piping? We cannot find a schedule for this pipe in section 15250?
Answer: This is being addressed in Addendum No. 2.
On drawing 75-E-1, please clarify the insulation spec for the 4" DS piping? Does 15250 3.12.A apply for the interior and 15250 3.13A for the exterior?
Answer: This question appears to address the reference drawings attached as an appendix to the drawings. The drawings in the Appendix were included as a reference only to show existing conditions. Any work referenced in the Appendix drawings would not apply to this contract.
Spec Section 09900.3.10 I - Special Coatings - Concrete floor says not used. Are we required to paint the new equipment pad for the Boiler?
Answer: Painting of the new equipment pad is not required.
Are we required to paint the new conduit? If we are which system applies?
Answer: Nonferrous, corrosion –resistant metals such as aluminum (i.e. aluminum conduit) does not require painting except when in contact with concrete or masonry per section 09900. Also conduit attached to unpainted surfaces need not be painted.
On drawing 76-AS-1 AND 90-AS-1 there are a number of HVAC equipment curbs that are called to be removed and replaced. Please provide a size and specification for each curb?
Answer: A curb manufacturer has been addressed in Addendum No. 2. The approximate sizes of the curbs are shown on the plans.
Drawing 100-A-1 this door frame (101 – Type F4) cannot be manufactured in FRP. Can another material be used for this?
Answer: Special-Lite, Inc. has verified that they are capable of supplying this door and frame in FRP.
