Question: Regarding allowances, I thought it was mentioned that the contractor was responsible for the installation of the new signage. Is the installation part of the allowance? It says "furnish and install" as part of the allowance. Will this contractor be able to work within the constraints of this PLA?

 
RESPONSE: Installation is included as part of the Cash Allowance.  See 01 21 00; Paragraph 1.03A.  Owner’s signage vendor will install the signage after substantial completion of the work.


Question: Could you confirm that no walls in the offices are not to be painted, the only painting in the offices is the back side of the door and the door frame?


RESPONSE: Backside of all hallway doors and frames are required to be painted in the hallway areas.  No wall painting in office or exam room spaces outside of the hallway and stairwells is contemplated.


Question: Has a date and time been set to bring subs through?


RESPONSE: The Sub Contractor walk through is set for Thursday December 10, 2010 8:00AM -10:00AM Please check in at the receiving area door and request for Jerry Ostrower for the walk through.


QUESTION: Is there a self-performance goal/requirement for this project and or Zion?
RESPONSE: No self-performance goal required.  Overall project goals for MBE/WBE participation are as noted in the specifications.


QUESTION: I wanted to see if there was any kind of estimated value for the project


RESPONSE: Belvidere is Estimated to be $1,000,000.00

QUESTION: Can a blog posting modify a contract document? There are two items that can modify a contract, prior to bidding a project, an addendum can be used to make modifications and after there are several different ways to modify a document but my concern is in advance of bidding this or any other project? How does a question and answer get acknowledged on a bid form?


RESPONSE: The blog post is the Bid addendum. The County and Health Department has been utilizing the blog Addendum for a number of years now. As stated in Section Instructions to Bidder item # 4 “ALL addenda so issued shall become part of the Bid Documents” “ It is the Proposers responsibility to check for addendums posted on the blog website prior to bid submittal date. 


QUESTION:  Can we confirm the new gear lineup will be top entry like existing? I assume so but want to make sure.


RESPONSE: The new switchgear shall be top fed.  Also see detail 2/E610; Keynote 26.215.


QUESTION: What will be required to withstand/kA ratings on the new board and ATS?


RESPONSE: The AIC rating is 65,000.  Drawing revisions clarifying this will be issued at a later date

RESPONSE: Unclear of your question as presented ? All details are within the Bid document. The winning Bid Tab information will be posted on the County Website.

RESPONSE: It was only posted on the County website.
