Attached are revised Specification Sections 16000 and 16100 which were revised to delete reference to PVC Conduits.

Drawing E-1 has also been revised to delete reference to PVC Conduits, see attachment.

Question:  Please confirm if this project is SRF funded and requires compliance with the American Iron and Steel Act “AIS”

Response:  This project is not SRF funded and is therefore does not require compliance with the American Iron and Steel Act “AIS”.

June 16, 2016

Question:  What type of restoration is required for the landscaped areas?  Topsoil and sod? (clarify sod type)  Topsoil and seed? (clarify seed type)  What type of erosion control blanket?

Response:  Please see Specification Section 02485 Lawns & Grasses for specifications on topsoil, seed and erosion control blankets.  Restoration of the lawn / turf areas is to graded, topsoil, seeded and blanketed.

Question:  Clarify the construction fencing required around overnight open excavations?

Response:  Specification Section 01000 has the following requirements regarding site safety/security:
F. Security
1. Contractor shall provide inspection of Work Site area daily and shall take whatever measures are necessary to protect the safety of the public, workmen, and materials, and provide for the security of the Work Site, both day and night.

Question:  Please provide driveway restoration details.  Is it the County’s intent to repave the whole driveway or just area disturbed by contractor

Response:  Driveway restoration is for the area(s) disturbed by the Contractor.  Sub-base and pavement to match existing.

Question:  Please clarify bedding for PVC and DI pipe (material and haunching height).

Response:  Please see Trench and Bedding Detail on Sheet G-4.

Question:  Please provide a spec on the liner?

Response:  Please see Specification Section 09980 Reservoir Lining.

Question:  will the wells be removed prior to construction?

Response:  It is the County’s intent to have the wells closed / abandoned prior to construction of the reservoir improvements.

Question:  Bid item #5 seems to state the contractor is responsible to install the closure piece. It was my understanding that the contractor was to stub out from the building and make the connection once the enclosure piece is installed. I did not see any details nor specs.

Response:  The watermain closure piece is the 8” ductile iron pipe (anticipated to be 20 ft. /-) and 90 degree elbow to be installed between the CLCJAWA watermain and the LCPWD 8” ductile iron pipe stub out of the building.  The anticipated connection to CLCJAWA will be to a buried butterfly valve with an MJ fitting.

Question:  Can you provide an estimate for bonding purposes?

Response:  A construction cost estimate is not available.
