Question:  I saw the response regarding the supplemental agg base work. Page 2 of 6 in the technical specifications under 1.1 state that “All holes, soft spots, and other defects in the subgrade shall be corrected by the Contractor as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor by removing the unsuitable material, adding subbase granular material and recompacting the subgrade to the approval of the Maintenance Supervisor.  This work shall be incidental to the contract.”

Is the aggregate base course supplemental item in place of this incidental work?

Response:  Yes – supplemental Agg. Base Pay Item will be used for all holes, soft spots, and other defects in the subgrade shall be corrected by the Contractor as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor by removing the unsuitable material, adding subbase granular material and recompacting the subgrade to the approval of the Maintenance Supervisor.

Question:  What is the purpose of the Aggregate Base Course, 6” supplemental unit pricing pay item? 

Response: Purpose of supplemental unit pay item is in the event that unsuitable material or unstable areas of pavement are revealed and require additional aggregate base course.

Question:  Will LCPW be doing the placement and grading for the milled material to 26055 Midlothian Rd?

Response:  LCPW will be placing and grading the milled material.
