Response:  Please see the attached pre-bid sign in sheet.

Question:  For the electrical service on Pauline and Horatio that runs through backyards, who is responsible for removing and replacing the fencing, or is directional boring acceptable?

Response:  Directional boring is acceptable.  Any removal and replacement of fencing associated with the service shall be the responsibility of the Contractor.

Question:  Both connection vault conduit schedules show a flood switch.  This does not appear in either plan view of the connection vaults.  Please confirm if this is required and where it will be located within the vault.

Response:  Yes, flood switches are required at both locations per Schedule Tag 10, Sheet 22 for the Source Interconnection Vault and Schedule Tag 6, Sheet 23 for the Emergency Interconnection Vault.  The Vertical Float Switch detail on Sheet 24 illustrates the flood switch connection.  Refer to Notes 8 and 6 on Sheets 22 and 23 respectively for conduit routing inside the vault.  Flood switches shall be located adjacent to the sump pump pits in each vault.

Question:  What are the actual sizes of Reservoir Chambers 1 & 2? Can you provide us with the dimensions / volumes?

Response: The reservoir is made up of 2 chambers.  Chamber 1 is the southeast half and has a square footprint.  Chamber 2 is the northwest half and has an “L” shaped footprint.  Both reservoirs have a footprint area of approximately 2,200 SF.  The vertical wall height is approximately 17.5’.  Based on the operating high-water levels in the reservoirs, each cell holds approximately 250,000 gallons, for a total storage capacity of 500,000 gallons.

Question:  Flood switches are being manufactured by what supplier and/or what is the product description/detail?

Response:  See specifications pages SP-111 and 40 70 00-3 for flood switch supplier and descriptions.

Question:  Will EJ WLS1 30x54 Shroud 8" Tall PR be acceptable alternate to Bilco MNB-50?

Response:  The specific hatch alternate model cut sheet could not be located online and no product cut sheet was provided with the question.  EJ is an approved equal supplier for hatches as long as the specifications meet or exceed of the Bilco model specified.

Question:  Can the P&ID's on sheet 32 and 33 please be annotated with what is new for this project, what is existing, and what is being supplied by owner or a different contract outside of this one? For example, 768 FIT/FE-0141 seems to be existing, but that is not clear.

Response:  New items or notes related to the proposed scope of work on the project are boxed in red on the attached Exhibit (Sheets 32 & 33).  Exhibit file is named “2024.04.29 PID Exhibits”.

Question:  Interior Reservoir Cleaning and Sediment Removal Subsequent Chlorination What are the dimensions of the two cells and also the gallon capacity for chlorination ?

Response:  The reservoir is made up of 2 chambers.  Chamber 1 is the southeast half and has a square footprint.  Chamber 2 is the northwest half and has an “L” shaped footprint.  Both reservoirs have a footprint area of approximately 2,200 SF.  The vertical wall height is approximately 17.5’.  Based on the operating high-water levels in the reservoirs, each cell holds approximately 250,000 gallons, for a total storage capacity of 500,000 gallons.

Question:  Is the “Source Interconnection Vault Control Panel” shown on the P&ID’s on Sheets 32 & 33 or any one-line electrical drawing? The only reference I can find for this panel in the plans is on sheet 13, but I do not see any other information for this panel in the plans.

Response:  The SOURCE INTERCONNECTION VAULT CONTROL PANEL will be owned and operated by the Village of Buffalo Grove after the project has been commissioned and therefore does not show up on the P&ID drawings, which are for the Lake County Public Works Facilities.  In addition to the callout on Sheet 13, the general panel layout, conduit, and cable schedules associated with the SOURCE INTERCONNECTION VAULT CONTROL PANEL are shown in Sheet 22.  The detailed specification for this control panel is Special Provision 48 for the SOURCE INTERCONNECTION VAULT CONTROL PANEL (LC52), beginning on page SP-106.
