Questions Received:
Q: Is Contractor required to complete as-builts? Does it have to be verified by a Professional Engineer/Land Surveyor? Can a redline of the improvements/changes suffice, with appropriate GPS coordinates?
A: Contractor is required to provide As Builts. As Builts will be verified by the resident engineer. The redline format is sufficient for record drawings should it include appropriate GPS Coordinates. Please reference Page SP-5 Addendum 4 of the Technical Specifications.
Q: Can contractor backfill street openings with approved stone to grade and it left overnight/for duration of project until restoration? Do street openings need immediate pavement?
A: Street openings may be backfilled temporarily with approved stone.
Q: Can contractor stage equipment within the project area, overnight, daily, for the duration of the project?
A: Discussions with local property owners will determine if, and locations of staging.
Q: Can contractor drill the ~80' from station 106.5 to station 109? Currently shows open cut.
A: Open cut is specified to ensure that conflicts with the gas main are avoided. Drilling will be considered if contractor can show that future maintenance of installed facilities will not be incumbered due to the proximity of the gas main.
Q: Is topsoil and seed (4" topsoil) included in the service connection unit, or paid for separately?
A: Topsoil is included as part of item LC29 Seeding (Complete).
Q: Please confirm FA-6 backfill is to be used for service pipe in parkways/grass areas?
A: FA-6 Backfill is to be used for service pipes in the parkway/grass areas. Please reference Technical Specification LC16 Water Service Connection for further information.
Q: Does an engineering firm have to stake the running line?
A: No
