Q 1. Does the system need to have reagent positions that are cooled and non-cooled during the same working schedule, meaning reagents are both chilled and at room temperature at the same time?

RESPONSE: Not necessary, but desirable to have the option of having chilled and room temperature reagents at the same time if we choose to add analytes to our discrete that would benefit from this option.

Q 2. Is there a minimum number of reagent positions required?

RESPONSE: We utilize 12 reagent spots in our current discrete.

Q 3. Software specifications part 17 states the system should “contain EPA approved methods for the following analysis: Ammonia- Current MRL 0.1 ppm, Nitrate-Nitrite-Current MRL 0.05 ppm, Nitrite-Current MRL 0.05 ppm, Total Phosphorus-Current MRL 0.01 ppm, Ortho Phosphate-Current MRL 0.005 ppm, TKN-N-Current MRL 0.10 ppm, Hardness- Current MRL 4 ppm, Alkalinity-Current MRL 20 ppm, and Sulfate-Current MRL 10 ppm” How is the MRL calculated by the County?

RESPONSE: We currently use four instruments for the methods listed above.  Nitrate-Nitrite, Nitrite, Sulfate, Total Phosphorus, TKN and Sulfate are analyzed with our current discrete instrument.  Alkalinity and Hardness are run via titration.  Orthophosphate is run via spectrophotometer and Ammonia is run ISE.  As per TNI NELAC rules we have run an LOD study for each of these analytes.  The LOD is checked throughout the year to verify it has remained the same or has shifted.  Our MRL (LOQ) is based on the MDL as well as the sensitivity of each of the instruments we are utilizing.  We are interested in running Ammonia and Ortho-Phosphate on our new instrument.  We would also like to have Alkalinity and Hardness on there as well.

Q. 3 Are vendors able to respond more than once to the RFP #20107 if more than one instrument model meets the RFP requirements?

RESPONSE:  Yes, Vendors are able to submit within their RFP proposal response with all options on instrument models as long as they meet the requirements.
