Q: Does Bid have liquidated damages or penalties?
A: No
Q: Could you please get clarification from the engineer if they 2-1/4” or 2-1/2” binder thickness? There is a discrepancy between the specs and plans.
A: 2.5”
Q: Cannot locate the epoxy quartz and the sealer specification for the project.
A: Section 12 3553.13. The tops are Durcon epoxy resin. See Addendum No. 1
Q: In a bid form there are (2) allowances are listed total of $20,000 and in Spec section 012100 total $89K of allowances listed. Please clarify.

Q: Where can I find the transaction windows (see spec section 85800)? I looked at the floor plan/interior elevations and cannot find them.
A: 4 / A6.3 and 1 / A8.1
Q: Cannot find the interior steel windows marked E and F as found on page A9.3.

Q: Need to know the hardware set that door #01009 will receive.

Q: Geotechnical report talks about raising the site 1-2’. Is that required and/or part of this work?
A: Refer to existing grade elevations and new. See Drawings particularly the Civil.
Q: Drawings already reference an “Addendum #01”. How will future revised drawings and specifications be labeled?
A: Reference is “Revision 1”.
Q: Clarify intent or scope of testing by owner.
A: See Section 01 2100, Article 3.3, paragraphs B, C and D.
Q: Does existing drain tile that runs under the building need to be demolished or abandoned in place?
A: No, abandon in place.
Q: Noted inconsistencies between Architectural and Security drawings regarding card reader locations and types.
A: Locations per the Low Voltage Drawings (T Series)
Q: No guidance provided on Genetec access control server storage requirements or capacity.
A: The server was installed this past summer in 2016, only 20 card readers have been networked to the server. The Owner will be responsible for all upgrades if needed.
Q: Identify number of FOB’s to be provided in bid.
A: Minimum number provided in a pack. (i.e. set of 25, 50 or 100, etc.)
Q: Will the pre-bid meeting sign-in sheet be made available?
A: Sign-in sheet is now posted online
Q: Who is responsible for temporary utilities such as electrical?
A: Contractor per Section 01 5000; (Owner will pay only “use charges” as stipulated.)
Q: Clarify allowances to be included.
A: See Addendum No. 1
Q: Will the construction budget be provided?
A: No.
Q: The door schedule shows the basis of design as the Overhead Door Corporation Model 850 which is a 3” thick door with 30 gauge exterior and “R” Value of 26. The specifications state the basis of design is a Clopay Building Products Model 3722. This is a 2” thick door with 20 gauge exterior and “R” Value of 18.4. The specifications also state the Clopay door is a 27 gauge exterior with “R” Value of 18.4 which would be a Clopay Model 3720. They are basically listing 3 different door types. Here are the 3” thick models which match the basis of design per the plans: Overhead Door Corporation Model 850, Wayne Dalton Corporation Model TM530, Clopay Building Products Model 3730, Raynor does not offer a 3” thick polyurethane door. Here are the 2” thick models which match the design for the specifications: Overhead Door Corporation Model 592, Wayne Dalton Corporation Model TM5200, Clopay Building Products 3720, Raynor Model TM200
A: Clopay 3722 (20 gauge exterior R = 18.4); Addendum No. 1
Q: When custom finish is added per 083613 – 2.2 – B – 8 no manufacturer will offer the warranty listed per 083613 – 1.7 – A & B. They will only offer a one year warranty. Please advise if one year warranty will be acceptable.
A: No; Addendum No. 1
Q: 083613 – 2.3 – I calls for NEMA 1 which does not carry a rating for Water or Dust. NEMA 4/12 is a Water Tight/ Dust Tight motor. These are two very different options. Which motor operators would you like NEMA 4/12 rated and which operators would you like NEMA 1 rated.
A: Rated Water Tight / Dust Tight; Addendum No. 1
Q: 083613 – 2.3 – L: The doors noted in the door schedule with Standard Lift will come with Trolly Operators as noted. These types of operators cannot come with Chain Hoist. These doors will have to be manual push up. Please let me know if this will be acceptable.
A: Yes
Q: Sheet A9.3 Legend notes the overhead doors with glass are type GL-2. This is shown as 3/8” double Pane Polycarbonate Labeled Safety Glass. Sectional Overhead Garage Door Schedule calls for the doors to have 1/2" Insualted Tempered. Tempered glass is out industry standard. Please confirm tempered glass should be used and not polycarbonate.
A: Follow Specification / Tempered insulating glass.
Q: Sheet A9.3 Sectional Overhead Garage Door Schedule NOTES state all garage door lites to have security film. The Schedule calls for Clear Glass. Please confirm security film is not required. If it is required who is to install it since Garage Door Manufacturers will not install this on their lites. If we are still required to provide this, please provide a manufacturer and model number.
A: Not required; See Addendum No. 1.
Q: Sheet A9.3 Sectional Overhead Garage Door Schedule calls for Auxillary contact supplied and installed by door supplier for monitoring by Div 23. More information is needed. If the security contractor is requiring something why are they not supplying this device. We can provide auxillary opening and close limits for them to use. If it is something more than that a manufacturer and model number will need to be given so we can supply.
A: Overhead door to provide manufacturers auxiliary opening and close limits.
Q: Are there alternative manufacturers acceptable other than Genetec for the Access Control and Video Surveillance Head Ends?
A: No, the Sheriff’s office has recently migrated to Genetec, this is the current security system that they will use to monitor the facility.
Q: The Manufacturer type of Fire Alarm Panels listed are out of date by almost 20 years. Neither of these type of Panels exist anymore. Can you clarify Manufacturers that are acceptable?
A: see Addendum No. 2
Q: Can you please ask the architect if they will waive the following sections from the Div5 spec? We will fabricate per AISC standards but we do not participate in the AISC Quality Program.
A: Yes; See Addendum No. 1
Q: On sheet A1.1, under wall type notes, D.1 – asks for reinforcement at 16” on center vertically, the specifications on 042200-8, 3.6, A., 1 also call for 16” on center but also says to see structure drawing for reinforcement. The structural drawings, on 8/S2.0, calls for #5 @40” one enter with wire every 24” on center vertically. No bond beam call for. Which do we follow?
A: Horizontal is 16-inches on center; See Addendum.
Q: In the specifications, 042200-4, 2.3 – call for masonry lintels, but S0.0 under lintels calls for steel. Which is correct?
A: Steel; See Addendum No. 1
Q: On sheet A1.1, under wall type notes, D.3, refers to see structural drawings for reinforcement. The structural drawings do not show anything of a 4” CMU wall. Nor can we install vertical reinforcement in a 4” CMU wall (no room for reinforcement with grout). See attached picture of 4” CMU from both sides.
A: Vertical reinforcement not required.
Q: Will you waive AWI certification for Millworkers?
A: Yes, however fabrication and installation shall follow AWI Standards and requirements.
Q: The finish floor legend on A9.1 shows sealed concrete, LVT, and epoxy floor coat, which does not match with the finish specifications on A9.2. Please clarify. Please elaborate.
A: Please elaborate.
Q: The glazing specification glass types do not match up with the glass types shown on aluminum frames on A9.3 or the glass key listed on the bottom right corner of A9.3. Please clarify.

Q: Are you willing to waive the AISC Certification, they do perform to the AISC standards, but do not have the actual certification?

Q: The trench drain details on drawings A7.1 and S2.0 conflict, please clarify which one governs.
A: A7.1; Addendum 2
Q: Drawing A9.1 lists additional alternate bids under the High Density Storage System Legend, are these areas to be bid as alternates in addition to the (8) listed in the Invitation to Bid?
A: Addendum 2; As part of this Work, the Owner will furnish and install all storage system rails as part of the two-pour floor slab installations.
Q: Drawing M2.0, under the Ductless DX Fan Coil Unit, lists AC-2, ACU-2, AC-3, and ACU-3 as alternate bids, yet they are not listed as one of the (8) alternates in the Invitation to Bid. Should they be additional alternates or base bid? These are also referenced on drawing E1.2 keyed note 5.

Q: Has a door hardware schedule been released?
A: Yes, please see attached.
Q: Section 28110 Access control Systems; In 2.6 Card and Fobs it states to confirm quantity closer to turnover for number of cards and fobs. What should we include in base bid?
A: See previously answered question.
Q: In 2.3 Card Readers and 2.4 card readers with keypad the specification calls for HID on the drawing legend T0.0 it calls for Aptiq, what is correct?
A: Aptiq readers are required, not HID.
Q: On Drawing T1.1 there are no long range card readers shown for overhead doors for the EMA Garage Bay or the Clerk Evidence Transfer Garage. Is this correct?
A: The EMA Garage doors and Clerk Evidence Transfer Garage door shall be opened via the long range reader on the South exterior wall, by the Health Department doors.
Q: Regarding glass & glazing: (1) Specification #084116 “exterior aluminum – framed entrances and storefronts” calls for a 2” x 4-1/2” system. The architectural drawing is detailing 2” x 6” system. Please advise.
A: Addendum 1
Q: (2) Specification #088000 “Glazing”. The glass types do not match with the types on the architectural drawings glass key. Please advise.

Q: D3 wall calls out for 4" block at 16' height. this is not recommended as not only the height is a concern, but 4" block is nearly impossible to reinforce with rebar and grout.

Q: Do the sewer spoils need to be removed from site? Just want to confirm note 7A on WBK drawing 2 of 15 that they can be spread evenly and compacted on site.
A: No, they can be spread on site as needed or at a location designated by the County on an adjacent property.
Q: Specification 095113 – Acoustical Ceilings calls for Armstrong Prelude XL 15/16” heavy-duty grid system. Normally it is intermediate-duty. Please confirm/clarify.
A: Heavy-Duty as specified.
Q: Drawing A1.1 and A8.1 show type A4 partitions at the south end of room 01013, however there is no type A4 partition shown in the wall types on drawing A1.1. Please clarify.
A: A4 is the same as A3 except with a 3-1/2-inch framing system.
Q: Flooring clarification: The room finish schedule table on drawing A9.2 and the floor finish legend on drawing A9.1 call for LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) in rooms 01002, 01004, 01006, 01007, 01008, 01011, and 01023. The finish specifications on drawing A9.2 spec out VCT (Vinyl Composition Tile) safety zone tile. Just want to make sure the intent is the VCT Safety Zone Tile and not the LVT Luxury Tile.
A: Safety Zone Tile as specified.
Q: The spoils piled up to the north of the proposed site. Can that material be used for the building of the pad?
A: Yes, as long as the remaining pile is left in acceptable condition.
Q: Can the excess topsoil be pile on the lot or will all excess material have to hauled off site?
A: Yes, it can be piled on campus and does not need to be hauled off.
Q: GLASS KEY” numbers and make-up on sheet A9.3 do not match “Glass Types” make-ups as indicated in specification section 088000-GLAZING. Please coordinate and clarify, issue directions on how to proceed, update “GL” types indicated on “FRAME TYPES” elevations “E” through “I”.

Q: If we are installing on your existing Genetec Server please provide the Genetec System ID number so we can get the exact version and licensing information to quote the additional licensing necessary. The ID number is all we need to look it up.
A: See previously answered question. The owner will be responsible, do not include the purchase of licensing and servers in your bid cost for card readers and IP cameras for Genetec.
